Sorry, they prescribed me medication for ADHD as a kid but then they stopped giving it to me as an adult and I’ve been going through one of those 14-year transition periods. What? Oh yeah, spf emo. The year is 2022. The subculture of the 2000s called “emo” is experiencing a revival. The bands that guided so many through their adolescence aren’t just coming together for shows, but dream-like festivals. These are the lineups that would have brought most high school students ~2005 to their knees. The best part of it all… now we can afford to treat ourselves to some nostalgia therapy.
Indulge in the memories of a time that was simultaneously much simpler, though every little thing seemed to be earth shattering. Tears fall after a sudden end of young love to the sound of Dashboard Confessional and sobs. Laughter and Panic! fill the air as a group of friends push the limits of their mother’s car and their father’s curfew. Cryptic lyrics set as away messages on AIM. Children “tought themselves how to code” thanks to Xanga and MySpace.
